Boring to the eye, but great if your name is Marcus Berghardt. It was the first stage of the Tour de France to turn away from the race for yellow and concentrate on the win on given day.

Panic of the streets of Bourg-d’Oisans today. First of all, the Little Prince, Damiano Cunego, crashed hard in the opening kilometer. It took him almost 10 minutes to get on his bicycle again receiving after stitches to his chin. It was real testament to the team spirit of Lampre, who sent three men back from the peloton to help Cunego throughout the day.

Monumental - that is the only word to describe the performance of Team CSC-Saxo Bank today. They decimated the field and blew it to pieces on the slopes of the Alpe d'Huez.
